WELCOME MILITARY PERSONNEL AND VETERANS
The Museum is participating in several programs that allow military personnel, their families, and veterans to visit for free or at a very reduced cost. It's our way of saying thank you for your service.
Blue Star Museum - free admission for active duty personnel and up to five family members from Memorial Day to Labor Day. This is an initiative of the National Endowment for the Arts.
NYCGO Fleet Week - 2-for-1 admission for active duty personnel from now until the end of 2010. This is an initiative of NYCGO, the city's tourism agency.
Information
Find out information about the Museum to help you plan a visit. The Museum welcomes visitors of all ages individually or in groups. Museum staff or Gallery Educators are available to guide adult, school and youth group tours. Reservations are required for groups so please book in advance. The Museum will close at 3 P.M. on September 8, 17, 22, and 29 and will be closed on September 9, 10, 23, 24, and 30, and October 1.

Helpful Tip
The galleries are kept quite cool to reduce humidity and protect the artifacts, and therefore we suggest that visitors bring a sweater to the Museum.
Kids & Families
The Museum's family guide, You are a Museum Detective. The Case: Looking
for Heritage in All the Right Places, contains a tour of the Museum's
first floor with at-home activities.
Café
The Café is closed on Tuesday, July 20 in observance of Tisha B'av. It will re-open for business on Wednesday, July 21.
The Heritage Café offers visitors a full menu of
options for lunch or a
mid-museum visit snack. The Museum does not allow visitors to bring in

Garden of Stones
Andy Goldsworthy's first permanent commission in New York City, Garden
of Stones, is open and free to the public. Garden of Stones,
an eloquent garden of trees growing from stone, is an outdoor space that
is a central feature of the Museum's new Robert M. Morgenthau Wing. (Learn more)

Free admission every Wednesday from 4 p.m. - 8 p.m. Note: This applies to general Museum admission only. There may be a separate admission price for public programs.
